Canajoharie High School Alumni Hall of Fame nominations being accepted

The Canajoharie Central School District is seeking nominations for the 2018 Hall of Fame induction. Nominations are due by March 30.

The Hall of Fame was established in 2017 to honor graduates who have distinguished themselves in a specific field – whether it be civic or humanitarian affairs or in other activities that merit special recognition.

A committee selects an inductee from nominations submitted by members of the public. The inductee will be recognized during the high school graduation ceremony in June. Please keep in mind that the district keeps applications on file for a period of time, so if you've recently submitted a nomination for someone, it does not have to be resubmitted this year.

“It is our hope that today’s students see in our inductees people worthy of emulation,” High School Principal Rebecca Gleason said. “We believe the Hall of Fame program will help develop a more positive school culture and bring our community together in sharing the successes of our native sons and daughters.”

The first inductee was Lt. Gen. Sean MacFarland, who was honored at the high school’s 138th annual commencement ceremony in June 2017. MacFarland, a 1977 Canajoharie alumnus and West Point graduate, is now the commander of Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S.-led, 60-nation coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
