Board of Education to hold regular business meeting September 14

 

The Canajoharie School District Board of Education will hold its regular business meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at Canajoharie High School.

 

The board is expected to get an update from the SEI Group Architects from Albany about an infrastructure capital improvement project that would affect all of the district’s buildings. The project has yet to be finalized, but major areas of improvement under consideration include improvements to school entrances, heating and cooling upgrades, lighting upgrades, and roof reconstruction.

 

The timeline and final cost projections of the project are not yet finalized. The district will distribute printed and digital materials to the public about the project and encourages feedback from the community. The district plans to hold a series of public meetings about the project as well where the public is encouraged to attend.

 

The proposed project will be put to a public vote in December 2017.

 

Other scheduled meeting highlights include reports from the Superintendent of Schools, discussion about enrollment, and an opportunity for public comment.

 

The board is scheduled for an informational meeting on September 28.
