Letter from Principal Gleason about Regents exams

Greetings!

It is hard to believe that the school year is coming to a close. Beginning on Tuesday, June 12th, students at the high school will be taking local and NYS Regents exams. These exams continue through June 20th. At this time we wanted to make you aware of procedures that will be in place at the high school.

Procedures to follow during Regents Examination Period:

  • No bookbags or backpacks will be allowed in the high school.

  • Students can bring their exam supplies - pen, pencil, calculator, etc. - in a clear plastic bag.

  • No cell phones are allowed in any testing area. Students’ cell phones will be collected as they enter the high school for a test. If a student does not want to release the cell phone to a staff member; they should leave the phone at home.

  • No watches are allowed in the testing area.

  • Students who are not in an exam can be in the high school with a teacher for review or completing work.

  • Normal bus transportation is available in the morning and after-school time.

  • If you need to take the bus in the afternoon (Pick up as normal at 3PM), you need to sign up when you arrive for your exam in the morning.

  • Morning exams start at 8am, and afternoon exams start at noon. Students will be prepared to enter the exam room 15 minutes prior to the start time.

  • Students who arrive before 7:30 will report directly to the cafeteria where breakfast is available.

  • During the entirety of the examination period, the high school will be a quiet work area.

We appreciate your support. In accordance with the NYS Education Department’s initiatives, we want to maintain a safe and secure testing environment for all of our students. We know you will help us to make this happen.

High School Principal
