Canajoharie alum, Hollywood actor Chad Michael Collins to speak with high school students


A Hollywood leading man is coming to Canajoharie High School on Dec. 21.


Chad Michael Collins, a 1997 Canajoharie graduate, will speak with students, faculty and staff as part of the high school’s Student-Teacher Action Rally (STAR) program from 1-3 p.m. in the high school auditorium.


Collins is best known for playing the franchise lead role of Master Sergeant Brandon Beckett across four successful Sony Pictures "Sniper" films. In the films, Collins has played alongside Tom Berenger, Billy Zane and Dennis Haysbert. He recently wrapped principal photography on "Sniper: Homeland Security" in Bogota, Colombia with Berenger and Zane.


Beyond the marquee role, Collins has more than 25 television and film credits, including appearances on ABC’s "Once Upon a Time" and “Castle;” CBS’s "NCIS," "NCIS: New Orleans," "Blue Bloods," "2 Broke Girls," and "Bones" on FOX.
Collins played football, basketball and baseball at Canajoharie before he went on to get his undergraduate degree in journalism at Ithaca College.
