Buckling up pays off We hear it
all of the time, "Buckle Up," and "Click It or Ticket." Well CHS
SADD is joining the effort with its "Buckle Up" campaign. Unlike
other programs that ticket and fine you for poor behavior, SADD
is going to reward you for good behavior. SADD's
goal is to help people make good decisions. One of the best
decisions you can make is to use a seat belt every time you are
in a vehicle. The statistics show that greater numbers of teens
are dying in vehicle accidents because they are not wearing
seatbelts. Bottom line: Not wearing a seat belt is a destructive
decision. So, SADD has decided to make seatbelt use for 100
percent of CHS students a priority. SADD members
will make random seatbelt checks in the parking lot and at
student drop-off areas to "catch" people who are buckled up. If
you are "caught" safely buckled, your name will be entered into
a drawing for gift certificates from McDonald's or Stewart's.
SADD will keep a record of students who make good decisions
throughout the year and in May, will draw the names of two
students, one junior and one senior to receive a special Prom
Package. The package will include: two free tickets to the 2009
Prom, flowers from Johnstone Florist, and a prom picture
package. Teachers and underclassmen will be
entered in a separate drawing.
