Nellis Pool  

The Nellis Memorial Pool was opened in 1963 and underwent a renovation that was finished in 2009. The facility is used for grades one through six Aquatics classes, summer swim lessons, the CFP Cougars swim team, and the Canajoharie Crocodiles Club Swim Team. The facility is also open for community use during the school year as well as the summer! Check back here for information regarding programs that are held at the Nellis Pool.


Re-opening to community September 11

With summer maintenance finished, Nellis Memorial Pool will open back up to the community beginning Monday, September 11.

The schedule will remain the same as it has been in past years: Adult Swim on Mondays and Thursdays from 7-8:30 p.m. and Family Swim on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 p.m.

As always, if the school is closed the pool is closed.


School Year Hours

Community hours are lifeguarded by American Red Cross certified lifeguards

Adult Swim: Monday & Thursday: 7-8:30 p.m.

Adult Swim is available for residents over the age of 18 who would like to add swimming, aqua jogging, rehabilitation exercise, or any other aquatic movement to their fitness and wellness regime. Come and enjoy a low impact activity that is great for your health!


Family Swim: Wednesday: 7-8:30 p.m.

Bring the kids! Anyone who enjoys the water is welcome to come to family swim. This a great opportunity to get in the water even when the weather may not be the warmest. Get up and get active with your family! Children who come to Family Swim must be supervised by an adult during the entire stay.


Organization Swims

If you have an organization that would like to use the Nellis Pool please contact Kevin Stuttle for information regarding pool use. You will need to fill out a Facility Request form and provide proof of insurance for your organization before being allowed to use the pool.



  •  Please park in designated areas in the Nellis lot.

  • All patrons must sign in upon arriving in the pool area.

  • Please respect the other activities that may be going on in the building during community hours, Adult and Family swims are limited to the locker rooms and pool, please refrain from using the hallways for other activities.

  • All patrons must use the showers before entering the water.

  • During family swim you are allowed to bring your own equipment, flotation devices, and water toys please keep the other pool equipment in its proper storage area (Blue flotation belts are available for weaker swimmers).

  • Nellis Pool staff has the authority to ask anyone who is behaving in an unsafe or unruly manner to leave.
