A Canajoharie student is helping to raise funds for children experiencing hair loss due to medical reasons.
Nearly nine years ago, Ashlynn Johnson first cut 13 inches off hair and raised $1,000 to donate to The Locks of Love. At the end of this May, she will be cutting off 18 inches or more of my hair and donating it to the Wigs For Kids organization.
“My goal is to double that amount. All donations raised will be sent with the hair,” Johnson wrote.
The Wigs for Kids organization is a nonprofit foundation that depends on monetary and hair donations. Each hair piece costs up to $1,800 to make. The families who receive the hair pieces do not get charged. Please help me in achieving my goal to help the cause.
The fundraiser will be going until the end of May, with Johnson donating 18+ inches of her hair and sending it with all the donations to the Wigs for Kids foundation.
Donation spots can be located at the Canajoharie High School, Lee’s Shops at Wagner Square, Lee Publications, The Village Restaurant, The Berean Bean, or feel free to message me directly for any further information.
Donations can also be made by Checks made payable to Wigs for Kids and please write Ashlynn Johnson fundraiser in memo section of the check. Checks will be sent in along with hair donation on May 31st.
