Canajoharie High School has been awarded the “School of Excellence” distinction for the 2023-24 school year by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).
This honor recognizes schools where student-athletes excel both in academics and athletics. To qualify, 75% of a school's varsity teams must receive the Scholar-Athlete team award, demonstrating high academic achievement alongside athletic success. Canajoharie High School had 11 teams reach this distinction.
The NYSPHSAA School of Excellence Award is designed to motivate students to achieve statewide academic honors while participating in interscholastic sports. It highlights Canajoharie High School’s commitment to fostering well-rounded students who embody the true spirit of the term “student-athlete.”
